It's been said that writing is a lonely occupation. I disagree. Writers need community with other writers. We "get" each other. We understand the challenges of writing: dreaming the dream, waiting for "the call," deadlines ... all of it. Yes, there is a lot of time when it's me and the imaginary characters. But the relationships I have with other writers have made all the difference as I've walked the writing road.
