Hi There, My cousin gave me Just One Evil Act as a Christmas gift. I noticed that is number 18 in your Inspector Lynley series. Do I have to read the first 17 books or are they more companion novels? Thank you, Britt

You can read the books in any order and ultimately you would have the entire story of the continuing characters. You might it enjoy the series if you read from the beginning. But it's not necessary.
