The blues, angst, negativity. I wrote most of part three while listening to Lana Del Rey's "Ultraviolence," album on repeat. One tried-and-proven formula is to see somebody leave you on a train to the Basque country. I think that the best writing I do is not when I'm feeling the Red Dragon of Artistic Mania flow through my veins, but when I'm making myself work with 15% inspiration levels.
