Catherine, I love everyone of your books and I believe that you said you had worked in social services as did I. Do you think your own upbringing has influenced your writing? What was your own upbringing like? Did you have siblings, both parents? Just curious.

Catherine Ryan Hyde Hi Donia. No, I never worked in social services. But thank you for doing so yourself. Yes, I think my own upbringing influenced/influences my work. I grew up with both parents and two siblings. But there was a lot of chaos in the house, and a lot of problems. I was the third child, and everybody was pretty busy trying to hold things together. So I just stayed out of the way and became the one who "disappears." I think there must be some tie-in between that and the fact that I write stories about kids (and other age people) who fall through the cracks and need to go on a different sort of journey to find what they need to be happy. Thank you for your question, and I'm so glad you're enjoying the books.
