When you are reading, what signals you that you have just read a great line, sentence, or phrase? By great I mean something written which moves you, inspires you, or in some way resonates with you the reader. I'm interested in the text and in the reader's reaction.

I like to feel both surprise and recognition. The description will surprise me first, and then it will feel so true that whatever has been described (character, place, time, emotion, or thing) feels permanently etched in my mind.
