Beth asked Paula Hawkins:

As many of us know, turning a book into a film doesn't always turn out right, missing details that are written. My question is what is your opinion of the movie remake of "the girl on the train"? Did it turn out how you envisioned whilst writing the novel?

Paula Hawkins Although there are cinematic elements to The Girl on the Train, I never imagined while I was actually writing the book that it would become a film -so I didn’t really have expectations. I thought the filmmakers did a great job with the adaptation: it was a dark, claustrophobic movie. I thought Emily Blunt did an outstanding job as Rachel.
