Goodreads asked Tyler Compton:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Tyler Compton Well, this might not be directly in my own life but I am directly related to it . . . according to my mother, her mother (my grandmother) is an only child and always has been. But just before my grandmother passed away my mother inherited a lot of family photos (she has a wall of old b&w family photos on a wall in the house I grew up in) one of which included my grandmother's parents in a picture with a little boy that had the same last name as my grandmother (and her parents) and was dated to be about five years before my grandmother was even born. We've come to believe that my grandmother had a brother, but that he wasn't around once my grandmother came into the picture and we're interested in finding out if he was indeed a relative and what may have happened to him??? Up until her death my grandmother protested she was an only child, and we didn't feel she was covering anything up, so much as far as she was aware and knew she was always an only child. That's one mystery I'd love to investigate and explore. Both personally and as a mystery writer.
