I found it ironic that you are in Montana.. as I am a fifth generation Montanan.. retired to Texas! :) I loved your descriptions of Denah seeking herbs to dye her cloth. Do you dye any cloth yourself with natural dyes? And, are you able to find dye material in Montana that fit this series?

I have only dabbled with natural dyes, and mostly odds and end plants from my garden. The fabrics weren't very color fast but that was OK for craft use. Interesting to think about MT native plants for more of that sort of thing again and I will put that on my list for summer. I did go through a tie dye phase a decade or so ago, all with purchased dyes though. Creating fabric and paper is a great creative outlet. I once made a sheet of paper entirely from carrot pulp!
