As you may know, I'm now reviewing mysteries and thrillers for the New York Journal of Books. This summer I'm looking forward to reading From Holmes to Sherlock by Mattias Bostrom, a study of how Sherlock Holmes became a modern icon of detective fiction. I'm also going to be reading The Lake, the latest Scandinavian Noir offering from Lotte and Soren Hammer, and Fateful Mornings by Tom Bouman.
