How do you get inspired to write?

P.J. Roscoe Inspire - to create and stimulate activity - that isn't me! That to me implies that I need to be inspired to write - I don't. It is a part of me that I cannot be without, like asking me not to breathe.
I have and always have had an imagination brimming over with stories, they need to get out - I suppose that is some form of inspiration? If they don't come out - my head will explode??!!!
Oh, and coffee! Need my coffee in the morning but no longer a cigarette - which I miss sometimes - not the smoking bit - yuk! But the 'appearance' of being a writer!! All the greats smoked and had a 'look' about them - or maybe it's just me being mad!
