Gigi Pandian
Three of my favorite things about being a writer:
1. Friendships with other writers. The women in my writing group have become some of my best friends; getting to know my favorite authors as real people has been inspiring; and the larger mystery writing community is full of wonderful people. I can't imagine my life without them.
2. Reviewers comparing my books to one of my favorite authors. When I set out to write a mystery novel, I knew I wanted to write books like Elizabeth Peters, combining mystery, adventure, history, romance, and humor. I fantasized that my books would be appreciated by fans of hers, and it was amazing when that dream came to pass.
3. Hearing from readers who connect with my work. When you're hard at work on a novel that you're pouring your soul into, it's impossible to tell what other people will think of it. I'd keep writing regardless, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun without hearing from readers!

Hi! I would like to start out by saying THANK YOU! I have not enjoyed a series so much since Elizabeth Peters was alive. Which brings me to my question. Have you read her Vicky Bliss series, and are there "Easter Eggs" in your Jaya Jones series? I am on the third book and I am finding some amazing correlations (Al Monkshood Jr etc). LOVE IT!!!

How was your association with your publisher established? Did you have multiple alternatives or choices? Did you get a royalty or is therea difference or in conteact based upon geography, e.g. domestic or international, or media type, e.g. trade paper back, hard cover , paper back, electronic or audio? Are there any contract clauses or sales targets which enable either party to terminate the long term obligations?
