Lois McMaster Bujold:
2 Qs for 2 series - 1 - Can Sara have children now, post-curse? Her potential for a Paladin/GJRQ style post-denouement adult adventure, maybe involving children with her second, lower-ranked love interest has been occurring to me lately for some reason so thought I'd ask. The "Mother" book? :) 2 - What was the reason behind making Cordelia, scientific character as she is, a religious believer? Thank you!
Lois McMaster Bujold
1 - Physically, perhaps; Sara's in her mid-30s when last seen by her narrative. I don't think she'd want to. Being mistress of her own estate, and far away from the scenes of her former pain, may be enough for her. (But you may imagine whatever you like; published canon offers no constraints.)
2 - That's just how Cordelia walked onto the page. Not reason or consequence or author agenda, merely initial condition. There are plenty of sound scientists out there who also quietly hold religious beliefs. (Guy Consolmagno, SJ, for a case in point -- you can likely look him him up. MIT grad and Vatican astronomer.) It's just that the noisy nutbars get all the press.

Is there any chance that "The Flowers of Vashnoi" will be published by Subterranean like the Penric novellas?

I have been re-reading Penric's Demon and just noticed this sentence: "Sorcerer had certainly not been on Pen's former list of scholarly ambitions, but then, neither had theologian, divine, physician, teacher, lawyer or any other high trade . . ." Then I noticed that with the possible exception of lawyer, Pen has now studied/become all of the above. Did you realize this when you first invented Penric and Des?
