As you are writing, routinely check in with your potential audience. You can have a writers' group like I did, led by the amazing Roger Flourish, or you can read potential new passages to a few select creative friends. If you can develop at least six people who are fans of your book before it is even finished, you're likely to get that the finish sooner.
