Lois McMaster Bujold:
Do you ever find yourself smirking or chuckling as one of your characters does or says something particularly clever during your writing process? It seems to me that in your place, I'd be hard put not to, but that's colored of course by the end product, not the process.

"Snickering" is probably the right word. After all, if it's not funny to me, why should it be funny to anyone else?
Crying is much more rare, but very valuable when it occurs. If it doesn't move me, etc.
Bouncing around the room yelping in wicked glee is also a good sign.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
Good morning, Ms. Bujold! I'm a huge fan of your writing, thank you! I'm far from a writer myself, but like many people, I do have to write some for my job. Most writers say the trick is to just get your thoughts on paper, then go back later and make them good, which is pretty much the exact opposite of what I do. Is that how you do it? And if so, do you think it has affected the way you think and talk as well?

Lois McMaster Bujold:
I love your books! I want to be the strong intelligent characters that you portray. Their perception and understanding of the world around them is so intelligent and easy to understand. Do you have anything from a very unintelligent protagonist (making wrong interpretations of the world, making incorrect judgement, repeatedly)?

O Honored Favorite Author: I just wanted to show you what my friend got me for Christmas this year: http://cecilyjeanne.tumblr.com/post/138516867218 You're now up on my office wall for all time! I got her to read the Vorkosigan books a couple years ago and it's been so fun to squee with her and see these new covers out in the wild. (Here's the customary question mark needed for this ask. -->?)
