Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Evette Davis Long story. As one of the few women to work in politics in San Francisco, I'd had my share of moments when I'd lost out just for being a woman. Finally, I had someone replace me on a job because they needed someone "more powerful." That set my mind reeling and I spent the next year trying to write a play about a powerful political consultant who is visited by an ancient spirit guide. A warrior who helps teach her how to get her mojo back. Women, you see, have been fighting since the dawn of time.

The play went nowhere, but it eventually morphed into Woman King and the adventure began!
