Thanks for your question.
The short answer is: Absolutely, yes!
The long answer is: I worked on the third AF book (Lambkiller) through most of 2016. I had some difficulties with it; it just wasn't the book I wanted it to be. So, I took a break from it in 2017. When The Grey Bastards was sold to Crown/Random House in March, things got complicated. I am under contract for a second GB book (which I will finish by Nov. 1st). After that, I hope to get back to AF, but I may need to write a third GB book first if things go well with the other two. I certainly feel like I've been away from Airlann for too long and don't want fans of the series to think I've abandoned it. It's the series closest to my heart, despite the Bastards gaining more traction in the market. It has always been the plan for AF to be 6-8 books, and that will happen one way or another.
I can tell you I have exciting plans for AF 3 when it finally launches to reward fans for being so patient.

Hi! How many books The Grey Bastards is going to have? I want them all although the first paperback isn't even out yet ;) :) Will all of them be available internationally on paperbacks? I know that's two questions but I just found out about The Grey Bastards, so Thanks!

Hi Jonathan, I’m devastated to hear about the Lot Lands being put on hold. It was my favourite on-going series. Is there anything fans can do to help future instalments along? Have you considered crowdfunding? Whatever happens, you’ve truly enriched the genre with these novels and we’re lucky to have them.
