Hi Susan! I'm currently reading your book, The Girl in the Glass, and might I just say it's amazing. I love the characters and how you describe Florence. Which brings me to my question, I am assuming you spent time in Florence for research purposes? If so, how long did you spend there, and what was your favorite place or thing you saw? It's definitely on my bucketlist to go there, especially since reading your story!

Hi, Abigail! You know, I've only ever spent two days in Florence, one day each on two different (and too short!) trips to Italy, but it was enough to fall in love! And while I was writing this book I asked friends of mine who had also been what their impressions of Florence were and what they ate, etc., so I had several wonderful meals to include in the book that either I ate or a friend did. Keep Florence on your bucket list! You will love it...

Hi Susan, I am reading Secrets of a Charmed Life and absolutely love it. I have veered from my Daphne du Maurier leaning and will be choosing Secrets for January book club, my hosting month. We are in Chicagoland - do you want to join us!? lol - I would love it if you were here as a "friend", listen to the remarks and then reveal who you are :) If not, maybe you would be available for a real time Q/A?

Hi Susan,
Just finished "Secrets of a Charmed Life" and loved it, especially the well-researched history of the Blitz. Which sister do you think was most to blame for the devastating outcome, i.e., sisters' separation and death of their mother? Even though Julia was very young, I couldn't help but blame her for not obeying her sister, then for hiding the bridal sketches.
