I am almost done on reading your book and I love it. Are you in the process of writing another fiction book?

Hey Jennifer,
First, thanks for asking. As it happens, YES. A couple weeks ago I finished the first draft of a new book. It's still a good long ways from being ready to start showing to people, but it has a beginning, middle and end. That, for me, is a bigger milestone than it is for a lot of people. A lot of writers know how their story will end before they start, but I tend to just wing it. That's great in terms of creative freedom, but more than once I've ended up stuck in a dead end.
The new story is a standalone, unrelated to Mount Char. If you can imagine Looney Tunes doing a hard-boiled / noir detective version of Scooby Doo investigating the Exorcist, that's kind of the ballpark I'm aiming for. (For comparison, I pitched Mount Char as "Monty Python presents the Godfather starring the X-Men.)
Thanks for asking!
Best,
Scott

Some really excellent world-building in The Library at Mount Char. It felt like a mix of different mythologies converging together, sort of a re-alignment of all our theories and beliefs and legends. What gave you the idea for the library, and for the scale of its studies?

I'm about half way through The Library at Mount Char and starting the book has been the best decision I've made recently. I really cannot put it down. A sequel or a second novel will be really appreciated:) I always prefer reading the book rather than watching the movie, so don't get me wrong, but I was wondering if there will be any movies or maybe animations (or just something visual) based on the novel?
