Goodreads asked Michael Patrick Mahoney Jr.:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael Patrick Mahoney Jr. My father was the greatest inspiration for And We All Fall, my first book. He died of a rare form of frontal lobe dementia, called Picks disease. I don't want to give away too much of the book, but I can tell you that dad asked me to do something one afternoon, something I couldn't imagine, just as Jackson Mills asks Jax to do, in the book. That request was the inspiration for And We All Fall, not to mention my love for apocalyptic scenarios and stories.
