Can you say why Simon and Shuster hasn't asked you to write another Start Trek novel since 2009? For the past couple of years I have gotten really intensely excited about reading Star Trek novels; I'm embarrassed by how many I have devoured in just the past 12 months or so. But it's a joy and informs my fandom of the multiple series. I attribute that to reading your rewatch page and one of your novels. Thank you!

I can't say, unfortunately. You'd have to ask them. All I know is that I got radio silence from them after Marco Palmieri was laid off at the end of 2008. *shrug* These things happen when editors change all the time, mind you.

I finished "Gryphon Precinct" this past week (GREAT series, BTW), and I realized that I was missing one "precinct" in particular. Will you ever write "Mermaid Precinct", if only so we can find out what happens to certain characters? (I'm trying to NOT spoil anything.) Happy Thanksgiving, sir!

As a reader, I prefer e-books; in recent years, most of my new book purchases have been electronic. As a writer, do you have a preference for how your work is published? The SCE series speaks to the marketability of an electronic-only release, so I imagine it's professionally equivalent. But on a personal level, are you as satisfied by bits and bytes as by something you can put on a shelf?
