Shiro Higurashi
Shiro Higurashi asked James K. Moran:

Do you like anime?

James K. Moran Yes, I do like anime. Any recommendations? The style of animation, the melodrama, the action and the monsters and robots can be such magnificent art.
I enjoyed Robotech (particularly the Macross Saga) on Saturday mornings when I was a kid, and later, in university, Akira. Much later, I saw much of Death Note, and Paprika. While working in comic-book retail for a year, I checked out Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vampire Hunter D, and Spirited Away, amongst many others. Most recently, I’ve inspected Warren Ellis’ updated four-part adaptation of Castlevania. I don't know the original, but Ellis' script is razor-sharp and the animation is satisfying. What I have meant to watch, for some time, though, is the seminal Ghost in The Shell, which predated the Internet and the Matrix and much other cyperpunk/dystopic futuristic anime by several years.
I’m also curious about the anime version of X-Men which is out there somewhere. As well, I’m curious about Attack on Titan (I’ve read some of the manga) and have been referred to One Punch Man and Bleach, although I haven’t had time to inspect those films yet.
