Gordon Grice Beside the jogging trail, under the bushes, nestled in matted grass, he found what he was looking for. There it lay, looking out at him with startled blue eyes: his head.

(Such a cool prompt I had to try it twice:)
Before letting the mourners in, he paused to admire the Sunset Bronze Casket, with its rounded corners and adjustable handles. Then he heard the knocking from inside it.

I loved The Red Hourglass! I was brought up in a place full of exotic fauna, and have always been entranced by the natural world. But you looked at nature, and wrote about it, in such a uniquely dark and beautiful way...I really admired the book. Still do. My question - what came first for you, the interest in nature or the interest in writing?
