A Goodreads user asked Kasie West:

Hi, I'm a huge fan! I was just wondering if you ever get tired of your stories while you write them? I'm an aspiring author and I always lose interest in the stuff I write after a little while, which makes it really hard to finish them. Thank you <3 P.S. You're my favourite author of all time.

Kasie West Thank you so much! I'm happy you like to read my books. And the answer to your question is: Yes! I do get tired of my books sometimes when I'm writing them. The new shiny idea that I come up with while writing the "old boring idea" likes to try to get me to abandon what I'm working on. Most of the time I push through that feeling and force myself to finish. I say 'most of the time' because occasionally a book just isn't working and I really do need to set it aside. But, all the other times, the key is to finish the book. Maybe you'd do better to outline it? Plot it out so that you know what's coming and you can write to the next plot point? Maybe you already do that. I'm not sure. But anyway, there is a satisfaction and rush that comes from actually finishing the book. It gets you in the habit of pushing through. And it's so much easier to edit and make a book better when you have a completed story.
