Lois Lowry:
Hello Lois. Your novel, "The Giver" was not only my first novel with a utopian setting, but also one of my favorite novels as a child. I would like to ask; "How do you believe the society, you designed in the novel, went wrong?" Despite the morally-gray methods the civilization had, I remember understanding the noble intentions behind them. Also, do you believe in a perfect society? Thank you.

Oh, this is exciting! I've been wondering about something: In "The Giver", how difficult was it to convey feelings using words? The descriptions were so accurate, like when you described how the warmth of the sun felt. Did you struggle a lot to make those descriptions just right? Or did they just came out as you wrote? As you started writing Gathering Blue, did you know that it was going to lead into The Messenger and eventually tie The Giver's loose ends up? The multiple story lines in the sequels were amazing. At first, I was completely unaware that the books would continue off one another! Movie sequels?
