Though there seems to be a recent influx of dystopian novels, "The Giver" is still one of the most unique and beloved books in that genre. However, if you could rewrite the book again today, would you add anything or change anything?

Lois Lowry Yes, I would make the last section longer...his struggle after he has left the community. It would be hard, though, because there would be no dialogue..there is only the boy and the (non-talking) baby
