There are so many great resources available, but I know it can be hard to narrow it down. My favorites are SAVE THE CAT by Blake Snyder, HOOKED by Les Edgerton, and WRITING THE BREAKOUT NOVEL WORKBOOK by Donald Maass.
As far as my favorite tips, remember that you need a character and a goal and then you make it harder and harder for the character to get to that goal. Keeping cause and effect in mind as you go from one event to the next is also helpful. Good luck!
