Goodreads asked Brandon Cornwell:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Brandon Cornwell Most of the time, I go and do something else for a while. I don't want to let my mind get used to being frustrated when I am trying to write, lest I dig myself a rut that I can't get out of. So, I go and play a video game, watch a movie, take a walk, or chat with someone about my story. Most of the time, the latter is the most effective at breaking through whatever it is that's vexing me at the moment.

Most importantly, I don't beat myself up or let my inner critic tell me that I'm failing, because writer's block is a common, normal, and natural thing. The fountain of creativity doesn't flow all the time for every single person; it's like a river that needs rain to revive the flow.
