Goodreads asked May Patterson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

May Patterson When I have writer's block, I do timed writings. I pick a subject and make myself write for 10 minutes straight about that subject. It's usually not very good, but it gets me writing again.

Another thing that helps me is reading. When I'm feeling stuck, I go back reread something that I know is well written. Suddenly, I start having all kinds of ideas and this leads me to my computer once again.
