Goodreads asked Ann Everett:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ann Everett This may sound crazy, but when I have a hard time starting a chapter, I'll thumb through novels I've read and read lines at random. Pretty soon, I'll read something that get my brain to go again. For instance, I read in a Nora Roberts novel something about a dogs tail wagging and bumping the floor. The word "wagging" sparked and I wrote...By now, Tizzy knew tongues were wagging all over town.
