Do you think you will write an adult novel?

Lois Lowry Probably not. I so love what I do. Might as well stick with it!

More Answered Questions

Stephanie
Stephanie asked Lois Lowry:

Race is briefly addressed as "sameness" in The Giver. I wonder how this sameness was achieved. I think the entire race was Caucasian, since Jonas makes a reference to red hair and light eyes. What happened to allow this to occur? Eugenics? Genocide?

A Goodreads user
A Goodreads user asked Lois Lowry:

In your book, Son, why couldn't Claire just take a boat away from the island civilization?

Lily Erlic
Lily Erlic asked Lois Lowry:

I am looking forward to watching the movie, The Giver. I am so happy that you were the consultant for the movie. I have read the book and think it's wonderful. I am an author too. I am aspiring to write great prose like you. Right now, I am working on a science fiction book for children ages 8-12. Do you have any tips on finding the right agent?
