Lillian Clark My favorite answer for this question is William Faulkner's quote: "I only write when inspiration strikes. Fortunately, it strikes at nine every morning."

I love stories, and reading and daydreaming are fabulous inspirations, but I never wait to feel 'inspired' to sit in my chair and get to work.
