In the article on your writing day, you talked of Summerhill in Leiston and your planner research visit, "...if anyone would like to join." I think tongue in cheek, my husband said maybe not. Who is right?

Ah, that. Yes, I've been researching the first alternative high schools in the US in the late 60s and early 70s. I've interviewed a bunch of retired teachers who were part of that movement and much of their inspiration came from Summerhill in Leiston. So, I figured I'd eventually have to go visit. I know it's not the same as when A.S. Neill founded it decades ago, but I have a feeling the new book will have an anchor point or at least part of the story set in Leiston during WWII. Are you in the UK?

i really don't know how to frame my question... so I'll just tell you that I just finished reading Love and Other Consolation Prices, and WOW! It's hard to find such a book now days that is so enthralling!!! You did a wonderful job capturing the essence of each character. I guess I want to know how you made them come so alive?
