What do you think of the the movie? Was you involved in any of the making of it? Personally I read the book because I wanted to watch the movie and ended up loving so much the book that I don't want to watch the movie after seeing how much the trailer differs from the book.

Lois, I am a fan of The Giver, I was a media specialist for the last 17 years of my 40 year teaching career and my question is this: Do you feel that many of the ideas from your book have been used in the latest books for YA readers, such as, Stefanie Collins, the Hunger Games?
