Lois Lowry:
"Gathering Blue" was my favorite novel of yours - however, reading other reviews, I think it takes more criticism than it deserves. Do you agree with the criticism of Gathering Blue and the comparisons and contrasts made to "The Giver?" Do you think Gathering Blue was a weaker installment in comparison to "The Giver" (or even "The Messenger?). What place in your heart does Gathering Blue occupy?

No, I don't think it is weaker...just different. Too bad that people feel compelled to judge them against eACh other. Me, I actually prefer GATHERING BLUE.
