What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Vesper Stamper Become a relentless (and ruthless) student of human nature, psychology and behavior. Journal, as much as you possibly can, first your observations about your own inner world, and then the world around you. Refuse to make assumptions about people—they will always surprise you. This is what a character does, too. Too many of us try to impose motivation, worldview or actions upon a character. They will rebel every time in the attempt to tell you *their* story...which might be very different than your own.
