I work at the Association of Junior Leagues and we are curious to know! 2) What inspired you to write The Giver? Your novel was an introduction to dystopian fiction and 15 years later I still love this genre and have fond memories of The Giver. Thank you!

Have you memorized all the ISBN numbers for your books? What is your favorite highlighter color? Have you ever found one of your books at a garage sale? Did you buy it, jut for fun? If so, did you dicker on the price?

Thank you for taking my question. I just completed reading the first book in the series - The Giver and i just started reading the next book in the series - Gathering Blue. I was expecting the story of Jonas and Gabriel to continue in the next book but i was a bit surprised to see an entirely different story. Could you not have continued the story of the first book?
