How do you prepare for reading books by non-English language writers like Ragnar Jonasson, an Icelandic author? (I'm frustrated because I can not roll my r's.)

Hi Laureen -
I actually could not roll my R's until junior year of college, AFTER I'd learned Italian and lived in Italy for a semester! So it took me a lot of practice and quite a few mouth exercises. As for preparing books like the Snowblind series, Mr. Jonasson was kind enough to provide me a voice recording of him saying all the foreign words multiple times - otherwise no way would I have been able to say them!
