My 7th grade daughter loved this book and the ones that followed. I too enjoyed "the Giver" and it made me reflect on the pull that dystopian books have on our young readers right now. Is it seeing idealism turned on its head? The blurred lines between good and bad? Thoughts?

Lois Lowry I think it reflects curiosity about the future in such uncertain times... the exploration of possibilities.

What was your favorite type of book to read as a young adult reader and did this reading genre influence your writing style and your choice of writing for young adult readers or no particular age group. As a teacher I read many young adult books with enjoyment. In my opinion , a good story is a good story. Thank you, Dawn Copley
