I really liked the way you portrayed Grace's character. I read you were inspired by Grace Brown for it. I would like to know who inspired you to portray Ian's character, though I didn't like him very much.

Oh, that's a tough question! I don't think any single person influenced Ian's character. I wanted someone who was trying to do the right thing, but often wasn't sure what the right thing was. His friends say one thing -- his coach says another -- his father says still something else. I wanted that confusion to be evident in Ian's part of the story so that by the time it ends, readers get the sense that Ian didn't simply change his mind -- he CHANGED. Hope this helps...
