Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Mark Loewen My daughter asked me to draw a princess for her. Because of the nature of drawing, the activity focuses so much on "looks." So I started telling her about what a crown really symbolized, and how she needed eyes to see what her people needed from her, and how her arms needed to be strong... and so on.

I had also been sad that there aren't any books of regular stories about children with two dads or two moms. So I decided to write this one!
