Just finished, 'Blood on the Tracks", and am currently reading 'Dead Stop'. How do you come by your detailed knowledge of rail that makes up Sydney Rose's post war career?
Barbara Nickless
Thanks for reading my books, Mike! My RR intel comes from multiple sources: books (see a few that I recommend at the end of "Dead Stop") and the internet. But mostly from working with and talking to RR employees, past and present. Boy, these men and women have a lot of stories. I've been fortunate to talk to folks from BNSF, UP and other railroads. And I've followed a railway cop around on his various tasks. I have him on speed dial. :-)

Ms. Nickless, my name is Angie Adams and I belong to a book group that only reads debut novels. We have selected Blood on the Tracks to review on Thursday, September 26th. We all live in CO Spgs and of course have been thrilled to read a local writer. I would love to invite you to speak to our book group if that is something you would be interested in doing. Dare I drop Maria Faulconer's name as a fun pal?

Hi, I enjoyed "Blood on the Tracks" and looking forward to the next installment. I see you are reading Dave Grossman's book. I haven't read that one, though the title/subtitle seem to indicate the book talks about similar subjects in the book I did read, "On Killing." The effects of war and how it shapes human thoughts and reactions were enlightening. Are you finding "On Combat" helpful?

Ms Nickless, I do a lot of reading as well as my kids. I try to read books which are classified as CLEAN Reads when possible. This allows my young kids who are voracious readers to read any book on my bookshelf without problem. Do you consider your book clean (no strong/cursing language, tame sexual scene, etc ? Thanks for Answering. Rodney
