To answer your question--the jumping off point for the Edgewood plot came during a few nights of my own insomnia. There's something about being the only one awake that makes my brain race with ideas. I could envision Russ taking his after-hours walks, and I knew he would witness something incredible, but initially I wasn't quite sure what that would be. I started writing and (luckily) the story unfolded before me, one thing leading to another. I loved writing the series and even found myself dreaming about the characters. I would have written it just for myself so it's a huge bonus that it's found readers who seem to love it as much as I do.
