Hello again! A question occurred to me while I was looking back on my notes from The Curse of Chalion, Was dy Sanda god-touched after all? Also, is Castle Porifors from PoS based off the Alhambra? I ask because that's one of my favorite historical sites (Fun Fact: the tiles in front of the Nasrid sultan's throne were inscribed with the name of Allah, so it was impious to stand too closely. Deters assassins too!)

Nope, dy Sanda was not particularly god-touched.
Porifors is a sort of generic melange of an assortment of minor Spanish military castles, not including the Alhambra. (Its region was never that rich!) Internal design as per the needs of my plot.
(The Zange was somewhat inspired by the Alcazar of Segovia, however. Also internally redesigned per plot. Another fun fact: "Cazaril" is a partial anagram of the word alcazar.)

Strange question: I found out about your books from a recommendation by author Jim Butcher, of the Dresden Files. He said of you, "One of the Best craftsman working in science fiction today." I've since devoured nearly everything you've written. He also said, "Wants to have her Babies." Then clarified by saying, he would personally bear children for you. He's a big fan. Are you aware of this proposal from Jim?

Reading 'Mirror Dance', I was just out of Premed, and our psychology professor had vividy described anorexia nervosa, where the adolescent uses her own body to obtain control that the overbearing family otherwise denies her. Mark's coping mechanism is quite similar, regaining a measure of control that way. Did you come up with this on your own, or did you actually use current research? Both would be quite impressive!
