Catherine Hernandez I try to ensure my characters have a life beyond me. There may be small inspirations from my life, but really, Bing is a dream come true: A fat, feminine, Filipino gay child who is loved by his mother. Thanks for reading!

I just saw the program on TVO with you and David Chariandy. Loved the discussion. What year did you graduate from Cardinal Carter? My daughter Andrea Sawada (turning 34) was in the final five-year cohort and my son Daniel (turning 33) was in the first four-year cohort.
