How do you get inspired to write?

Audrey Pavia When I was a kid, I loved to read stories about animals. Margruerite Henry's horse books and the Black Stallion series were my favorites. Eventually, I started to write my own stories, which heavily inspired by the animal books I'd read. By the time I reached high school, I was writing a lot of short stories. I didn't get into writing non-fiction until after I'd spent many years as a magazine editor.
