How do you get inspired to write?

V.H. Luis I create a playlist—songs related to a theme or emotion I'm attempting to channel—then I listen. With music blasting in my ear, I let the characters I'm writing about take over my thoughts and often, before I realize, I've written a chapter. I constantly edit the playlist as I write.

I'm also inspired by images, so if I'm suffering from writer's block, searching for photos/pictures related to a characters appearance or how I imagine the setting of a scene to look like, helps inspire me.
