I read the book for my book club. We are meeting this week. I would like to know the meaning of the words Sadie screams out. And who is Danny that she refers to?

The things Sadie is screaming in the opening diary entry from Jacob were, for me, things going on in the plane that we see coming down during the solar storm. First, the words that Jacob thinks are "words with no meaning" are Korean, and mean "Help me God please." I visualize them being prayed quietly and intensely by an older Korean woman sitting next to her stoic husband in the darkened, tumbling cabin of the doomed aircraft. And "Danny" is a little boy...maybe four or five...being held in the arms of his mother on that same plane.
I wrote those images into a draft screenplay that I pulled together a couple of years back.
Thanks so much for asking, and again, hope y'all have a good conversation at book group!
Peace,
David

Are you considering a sequel? The new journal Sadie gave him surely had a purpose!
The tale might continue in a variety of arcs - possibly what happened to Mike and his family, given that the prologue reveals that the farm had been abandoned. Continuing Sadie's evolving persona as a prophet. The long exodus west to Nebraska, which is around 1,300 miles, depending on where all those who survive might settle.
