My daughter is reading Deep Blue - checked out from the library - and I am seeing you wrote it for your 12ish aged daughter. My daughter is reading at a 6th grade level and we are struggling to find books that are interesting and challenge her - but are age appropriate. Can you tell me if there is content / topics that might not be appropriate for a 9/10 year old? She has read the entire Harry Potter series.

Hi Nicole: That's such a hard question to answer, as appropriateness varies so much among different families and children. I think my daughter was closer to 10 when she read the first of the Waterfire Saga books, and she loved it -- as did her friends -- but there are some sections that may be too intense or scary for some younger kids. I'd encourage you to read it (or any book) first, if you have any concerns.

Thank you for writing Stepsister! It was magical and moving to the last word. I loved the humor you wove through the story and enjoyed the reader's (I listened to the audio book) performance. Her inflections and voices truly brought the tale to life! Do you have input on which performer is selected to read your books and/or how they are reading the characters? Do you get advice on pronunciation, timing, etc?

Hullo, I've just started listening to the audio book of "Deep Sea" and was thinking about how great of an animated story this would be. After searching around online I found a short animated reel from Disney and Gizmo showing "Deep Blue" in animated form. Do you have anymore information on the animation or other visuals for your novel? They would be most appreciated. -isla
