Dux [My week is Booked] asked Kasie West:

Hey Kasie! I'm doing a reread of your books because they're great! I loved pivot point and noticed that's your only duology. What made you do two books for that series? I ask because I've seen you respond about writing a book about Bec in The Distance Between Us being a "maybe someday" story and just wondered how you decide.

Kasie West Thank you!! Pivot Point and Split Second were a planned duology from the very beginning. That's mainly what made me choose that. Once a book is already out, I've usually moved on with at least 2 other books after the one that was just released. So to do a sequel at that point, I'd have to get back into the head space of that book and decide if a sequel would do well out of order like that (because several other books will come out in between the original and the sequel). So yeah, I often say "maybe someday" because at one point, when I'm on a break or in between ideas, I might revisit some old books.
