How do you get inspired to write?

Whit Valentine This is kind of a dumb question. Inspiration doesn't always have a tangible source that you can pinpoint. I'll sometimes be half asleep and wake up just enough to write down the scene that I've suddenly thought of. Or I'll be in the car and a new book idea or entire dialogue sequence will appear out of nowhere.
On the other hand, I do read extensively, people watch, and listen to the world around me. If you pay attention, there's always something interesting going on.
